There was a little blessing rain at the beginning of Sunday, 23rd October 2011 but after that the sun was blazing and the Billabong City Squared Indo presented by Sony Ericsson was on with full speed.
32 skaters including Indonesia’s best also some international riders from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines all brought their A game in pursuit of the total rp. 60.000.000 cash prize!!

Billabong City Squared Indo Skateboarding Competition is coming to Jakarta in October 23rd 2011!!

Get ready for one of the biggest skateboarding competition Indonesia has ever seen – Billabong City Squared Indo!!

The event, presented by Sony Ericsson, is an elite one with a Rp. 60.000.000 prize pool for 32 highly skilled skaters will be keenly sought after. It is going to happen on 23^rd of October 2011 in one of the largest and busiest shopping district of Jakarta.

“I have never seen a skate event with this huge amount of prize money ever being held in Indonesia. This is big!” Exclaimed Tony Sruntul, Billabong’s South East Asia Skate team Manager. “With this much prize and experience to gain, I’m sure skaters all over Indonesia will gear up and step up their game.”

Billabong City Squared Indo also boasts an over 15m x 5m obstacle course custom built just for this event.

The qualification for the event will be held on 9^th of October during FORNAS (Festival Olahraga Rekreasi Nasional) in Gelora Bung Karno and only the best skaters can compete on those sick rail, ledge and stair steps.

Firdaus Takes Home $10,000 at the Billabong City Squared Asia presented by Sony Ericsson

(Sunday 28th August, 2011): Firdaus Rahman had himself a pretty nice Sunday, taking home USD$10,000 as the winner of the inaugural Billabong City Squared Asia Skateboarding Invitational presented by Sony Ericsson.  The Singapore local claimed the majority share of one of the largest prize purses in Asia skate history, a hefty and unprecedented USD $20,000. Firdaus skated consistently and explosively through the day, as invitee skaters from Thailand, the USA, Hong Kong, China, Russia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia gradually fell away in the elimination event. “I was so happy the weather turned out awesome today, as yesterday was really hard for everyone” Firdaus explained, “But today it was great vibes, great people, good music and amazing skateboarding!”.

Surabaya – Senin sore (25/7), bertempat di arena Skate-Bmx belakang parkir WTC atau yang lebih dikenal dengan Taman Ketabang, Rizky Galant, Edo serta beberapa remaja lainnya terlihat asyik bermain skateboard. Menurut Edo (kaos hijau) para skater Surabaya punya segudang prestasi.
“Soal event udah lupa, pokoknya disponsori merk dari luar. Kotanya sih inget, kompetisi di Jakarta pernah, Bandung sampai Bali. “ujar Edo sambil memperlihatkan salah satu trik skateboard yaitu Blunt, trik dimana papan berdiri tegak disangga roda depan dan akhirnya turun kembali menyusuri landasan tanpa harus terjatuh.
